Beginning the Journey from Classroom to Clinical Practice!

Moogambigai College of Nursing, Bengaluru, organised a Hospital Orientation Programme for the 1st Semester B.Sc. Nursing students at Rajarajeswari Medical Hospital, providing them with an opportunity to become familiar with the clinical environment and understand the functioning of a hospital.

The programme was conducted and guided by the faculty members, who accompanied the students throughout the orientation and provided valuable instructions and explanations about the hospital setting.

The students were introduced to the various departments, clinical units, patient-care areas, nursing stations, hospital services, facilities, and basic hospital procedures. They were also familiarised with the importance of following hospital policies and maintaining discipline within the clinical area.

The faculty members also guided students regarding professional behaviour, communication with patients and healthcare professionals, teamwork, empathy, ethical responsibilities, and the role of a student nurse in the clinical setting.

The orientation helped students understand how theoretical concepts learned in the classroom are applied in real clinical situations and encouraged them to observe, learn, ask questions, and gradually develop their clinical confidence.

The experience also provided students with an opportunity to appreciate the importance of multidisciplinary teamwork and coordinated patient care in providing safe, effective, and compassionate healthcare.

This hospital orientation marks an important first step in the professional journey of our young nursing students, helping them enter the clinical environment with confidence, discipline, knowledge, and a caring attitude.

Guided by faculty. Inspired by learning. Prepared for compassionate care.

A nurturing knowledge, skills, values, and compassion in every future nurse.
