AMYGDALA 2026 was successfully organized on 10 June 2026 at Moogambigai College of Nursing for I Semester B.Sc. Nursing students under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Preetha Thomas. The programme was conducted with the theme “Connecting Emotions, Behavior, and Society.”
The term Amygdala refers to an almond-shaped structure in the brain that plays a vital role in processing emotions, behavior, learning, and social interactions. Inspired by this concept, the programme aimed to enhance students’ understanding of human emotions, behavioral responses, and their impact on society.
The event featured a Poster Presentation Competition and a Quiz Competition, providing students with an engaging platform to learn, share ideas, and develop critical thinking skills. Eight teams participated in the poster presentation, with Team 8 (Child Abuse) delivering an outstanding presentation. Mr. Sharon and Ms. Renuka emerged as the winners. The quiz competition, conducted through four rounds, witnessed enthusiastic participation from four teams, with Ms. Issa and Mr. Nazil secured first place.
The programme saw active involvement from students, faculty members, and the audience, fostering learning, teamwork, and meaningful discussion. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, celebrating the achievements of the participants and making AMYGDALA 2026 a memorable and enriching educational experience.
