International Nurses Day 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Moogambigai College of Nursing on 16th May 2026 at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium, Bengaluru, under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” The programme commenced with an Invocation Dance, followed by the Inaugural Address, Welcome Address, and a presentation on the Significance of the Day.

As part of the International Nursing Week celebrations, various competitions were conducted from 11th to 15th May 2026, including Essay Writing, Rangoli, Quiz, Face Painting, and Debate competitions, encouraging students to showcase their creativity, knowledge, and communication skills.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Sailaxmi Gandhi, was formally introduced and delivered an insightful address on nurse empowerment through the 7 P’s in Nursing, motivating students to uphold excellence and leadership in the nursing profession. The cultural programme featured a dance performance, a Florence Nightingale skit, and a drama depicting the experiences and contributions of nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The celebration concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, recognizing winners of the International Nursing Week competitions, Overall Performer Awards, Academic Excellence Awards (II Semester), and World Tuberculosis Day Poster Presentation Competitions. The event served as a fitting tribute to the dedication and invaluable contributions of nurses to healthcare.
