The Moogambigai College of Nursing family came together to celebrate Makara Sankranti on 13th January 2025, starting from 11:00 AM on the college campus.
The celebration reflected the essence of gratitude, unity, and tradition. As part of the observance, Sweet Pongal, boiled sweet potato , groundnut, hyacinth beans, sesame–jaggery mixture, and sugarcane were offered to God. The pooja was conducted in a calm and divine atmosphere, marking the spiritual significance of the harvest festival.
The occasion also echoed the traditional saying “Ellu bella thindu, olle maathadi,” which means “Eat the mixture of sesame seeds and jaggery and speak only good words,” emphasizing harmony, positivity, and goodwill.
The celebration fostered a peaceful and positive environment within the campus and reinforced cultural values among those present.
A simple yet meaningful observance rooted in tradition and togetherness.
